Welcome to www.JamesKite.com
For those who use this website address to access my section on Zazzle, there is a link on the top right hand side of the page that will allow you to visit the shop and browse the t-shirts. In the meantime, the website is slowly being revamped to provide a unified front for providing those interested in what I do easier access to my online presence.
The latest addition has been a recent focus on uploading video of the panoramas to youTube. Though the footage is bare bones, the eventual goal is to learn the tricks of the trade (so to speak) and create a better experience for people over time.
IAmA on Reddit
I will be running an IAmA on Reddit on Friday 6th April 2012 at 9pm (Sydney - Australia) for those interested.
To ensure I cover as many questions as possible (assuming there will be much interest) I will drop by Saturday to complete any questions I miss (Sunday as a final look in) due to it being Easter weekend so who knows when people may be on.
You will be able to access the thread initially via http://r.jameskite.com during the IAmA (the domain will then point at the JamesKite "community" I set up which I am currently using as a place holder prior to the IAmA)
SOPA & PIPA
Obviously I am all for copyright laws as I try to work out how to build my own delusional empire, but the USA's approach to online piracy as represented by SOPA & PIPA is incredibly dubious and from what I have read...open to abuse on a level that should concern anyone. Consider this, the damage existing powers the USA government has managed to bring against wikileaks in their bid to protect "National Interests"...extend this ability to disrupt and damage websites to the corporate sector.
It isn't rocket science.
The power of these bills is the power to control the internet on a global level by way of targeting service providers that may service the internet at large by circumventing foreign laws & jurisdiction.
Then again, if the American government wants to be more like China & North Korea...who am I to argue?
If nothing else, the situation does provide cartoonists and comedians ample dirt to sling.
